FE Report | Friday, 8 August 2014
Bangladeshi workers who were killed in missile attack in Libya would be buried there, said Minister for Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Khandker Mosharraf Hossain Thursday.
The minister said they decided to arrange burial of the bodies in Libya as there is no space in the morgue to preserve the same. Besides, there is also no scope to bring the bodies back home by air as airports are under attack, he said.
At least five Bangladeshi workers killed in missile attack in Libya during last week were identified, said officials.
Moshiur Rahman of Gopalganj, Sheikh Mohammad Milon and Murad of Madaripur were killed Wednesday while Monir Miah of Narsingdi and Milon Hossain of Jhenidah were killed Tuesday.
Another worker - Kamal Bhuiya of Brahmanbaria -- who was shot on July 28, died on July 30 while undergoing treatment in a local hospital, according to the Bangladesh embassy in Tripoli.
