BDDL Properties Ltd. marked its 24th anniversary with a day-long programme showcasing its expanding technology-based training and skills development initiatives aimed at creating internationally competent manpower and boosting employment opportunities across Bangladesh.
The celebration, titled “Jug Jugantore”, was held recently at the Siam Agro and Training Institute in Keraniganj, bringing together academics, former government officials, development professionals, entrepreneurs, students and representatives from different organisations.
A major focus of the programme was the company’s commitment to human resource development through modern, employment-oriented training under the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF).
More than 100 students received certificates after completing various professional and technical courses, while several new skill-based programmes were formally launched during the event.
Speaking at the programme, Managing Director of BDDL Properties Ltd. M A Baten Khan said the company’s objective extended beyond property development to building human capacity and secure futures for young people.
He said Bangladesh’s large youth population represented a major national strength and stressed the need to transform that demographic advantage into a nationwide skills development movement.
Referring to overseas employment, he noted that a significant number of Bangladeshi migrant workers still go abroad without formal training, adding that improved skills development could substantially increase the country’s remittance earnings.
Representing Skills Academy BD, Engineer Tutul PK said the institution aimed to produce internationally competent skilled workers rather than merely issuing certificates.
He said the organisation planned to expand technology-based and practical skill training programmes to districts and upazilas across the country in an effort to build a national skills development network.
The programme also highlighted the activities of BDDL’s affiliated organisations, including Skills Academy BD, BK IT Institute in Pabna, the Shukrishi Partner Program, BK Foundation and Dayal Nagar Baharunnessa Public Library.
Students of BK IT Institute shared their experiences, while presentations were made on agricultural entrepreneurship and training activities conducted under the Shukrishi Partner Program.
Speakers at the event praised the organisations for their contributions to workforce development, technology-driven education, safe agriculture, employment generation and social welfare initiatives.
Among those addressing the programme were Joarder Nowsher Al (FCA), Chairman of Tilottoma Bangla Group; former secretary Md Selim Reza; international adviser to the United Nations and European Union Mamunur Rahman; Pro-Vice Chancellor of America Bangladesh University Prof Dr A K M Fazlul Hoque; and former Bangladesh Bank executive director Mustafizur Rahman.
The event also included a health awareness session organised in the presence of members of the Rotary Club of Dhaka Blues. During the session, Dr Hashrat Ara Begum spoke on safe motherhood, women’s health and public awareness.
Students from the Real Estate Department of Daffodil International University also attended the programme and received practical insights into the real estate sector.
The anniversary celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and the presentation of honorary crests to guests, departmental heads, partners and collaborators.
Through the event, BDDL Properties Ltd. reaffirmed its plans to expand its integrated initiatives involving skills development, technology-based education, agriculture, humanitarian activities and employment generation nationwide.
