B\\\'desh A team clinch top slot after first round

Bangladesh A team comprising Sajib Ali and Mohammad Ismail clinched the top slot in team category of the Runner Group 30th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship after the first round at the Kurmitola Golf Club in the city Wednesday, reports UNB.
Bangladesh A team scored 139 to take the first place with Sajib Ali scoring 70 and Mohammad Ismail 69.
Myanmar team followed hosts Bangladesh scoring 141 while Sri Lanka team is in the 3rd slot scoring 147.
In the male individual category, Mohammad Ismail of Bangladesh and Kyaw Thet Oo of Myanmar jointly lead the table with three under par 69 after the day's first round.
Another Bangladeshi golfer Sajib Ali is in the 2nd place with two under par 70 while Ghazanfar Mehmood of Pakistan is in the 3rd position with one under par 71.
The team championship will be determined by two-round gross score of two players of the team while four-round total gross score will decide the winner in the individual category.
Earlier, on Tuesday, Master General of Ordinance of Bangladesh Army Major General M Abdus Salam Khan inaugurated the four-day meet through a colourful ceremony at the Kurmitola Golf Club.
A total of 185 golfers, including 37 foreign golfers from eight countries Afgha- nistan, Bhutan, Pakistan, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Sri Lanka and hosts Bangladesh, are taking part in the championship.
