Bangladesh Hockey team tasted their first win in the 17th Asian Games beating Singapore 2-1 in the Pool A third match at the Seonhak Hockey Stadium, Incheon, South Korea Tuesday, reports UNB.
In the day's match, Pushkor Khisa Mimo scored a field goal for Bangladesh in 22nd minute, while Md Khorshadur Rahman doubled the margin in 25th minute by a penalty stroke. Yi Ru Tan of Singapore scored by a penalty corner in the 47th minute to reduce the margin.
This is the seventh win for Bangladesh against Singapore in their nine meeting while lost in one and made drew in another.
Bangladesh will play their remaining group match against South Korea Saturday (September 27).
Earlier, Bangladesh made a dismal start losing to Japan 0-8 in their Pool A first match Saturday (September 20) while 1-5 against Malaysia in the 2nd match the following day.
