Bangladesh men's team returned to the winning form in the 7th round open section matches of the 41st World Chess Olympiad beating San Marino by 4-0 points in Tromso, Norway Saturday, reports UNB.
In the 7th round open section matches, Bangladeshi GM Ziaur Rahman beat Righi Ezio, another GM Enamul Hossain Razib defeated Cecchetti Roberto, IM Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagar beat Maccapani Massimiliano while GM Niaz Murshed beat Grassi Enrico of San Marino.
After the 7th round matches, Bangladesh men's team earned 7 match points and 15.5 game points.
But, Bangladesh Women's team lost to Moldova by 1.5-2.5 points in the 7th round Sunday.
In the 7th round, Bangladeshi WIM Shamima Akter Liza beat WIM Baciu Diana while WFM Sharmin Sultana Shirin drew with Gitu Paula Alexandra.
Bangladeshi WFM Nazrana Khan Eva lost to IM Petrenko Svetlana and WIM Rani Hamid lost to Hincu Olga.
Bangladesh Women's Team earned 6 match points and 13.5 game points after the 7th round matches.
In the 8th round matches on Sunday evening, Bangladesh men's team was due to play against the Philippines while Bangladesh women's team was scheduled to play Puerto Rico.
