Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh has suspended two of its staff following media reports over the torture of a Bangladeshi housemaid, reports UNB.
The housemaid, Runa Laila, has already returned home.
A high-level investigation committee has been formed in this regard and legal steps will be taken apart from their removal from job if the allegations brought against them are proved, said the Embassy on Sunday.
"The Embassy is committed to protecting and ensuring the safety of female workers. The Embassy will follow zero tolerance policy if any untoward incident is reported against any staff," said Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Golam Moshi.
The safe house for female workers of the Embassy is monitored by CCTVs round the clock.
The Embassy, however, did not reveal the names of the two suspended staff.
