B'deshi shot dead by extortionists in South Africa

SHARIATPUR, Apr 22 (bdnews24.com): A Bangladeshi expatriate has been shot to death in South Africa by a gang of extortionists, his family has said.
The incident took place around 12am on Saturday in Cape Town, said his cousin Tariqul Islam.
The 29-year-old Parvez Sardar worked as a salesman at a shop in Cape Town after migrating to South Africa in December, 2017 in search of better livelihood.
A local gang of extortionists had harrassed Parvez for money a few days ago, according to Tariqul.
"After he refused, four assailants entered the shop and shot him dead before fleeing the scene. Parvez died on the spot."
