SATKHIRA, July 27 (UNB): Indian Boarder Security Force (BSF) and Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) exchanged fires at Kakdanga frontier of Satkhira and Mohonpur frontier areas of Dinajpur districts Friday morning.
Along the Kakdanga frontier area in Kolaroa Upazila, BSF troops from Tarali camp fired an unspecified number of shots across the border at about 5:00 am without any provocation, forcing BDR jawans to respond firing two shots.
In Mohonpur frontier area, also at about 5:00 am, Indian border guards fired five shots, prompting BDR personnel to retaliate firing three shots.
Yet along Rudrapur boarder in Sharsha Upazila of Benapole, BSF men fired around 15 shots on Bangladeshi cattle traders Friday in the morning.
BDR officials said the BSF members from Tetulbaria camp started firing shots on Bangladeshi cattle traders while they were returning with cows.
However, there was no report of any casualty in the incidents. Tension was brewing in the frontier areas.
