BDR clarifies death of its two jawans against backdrop of mutiny

Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) Saturday furnished clarifications about the recent death of two of its personnel, Habilder Solaiman and Sepoy Raich Uddin, against the backdrop of the mutiny at the border force's headquarters, reports UNB.
In separate press releases, the BDR said that Habilder Solaiman of the 45th Battalion died on March 26 at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) while Sepoy Raich Uddin of 44 Battalion died on March 9 at Kidney Hospital.
About Habilder Solaiman, it is stated in the release that on August 28, 2008, Solaiman first got admitted into the BDR hospital following a cardiac attack. Lastly, on January 3 this year, he got readmitted into the same hospital after being attacked by the same disease.
On March 4 this year, Solaiman was transferred to the NICVD for improved treatment. Solaiman died at 6:30 pm on March 26 while he was under treatment at the NICVD.
The release further said the said BDR member had applied to the BDR director general (DG) for money to meet the expenditure for treatment, and based on the advice of the physician, the DG gave Tk 0.55 million as medical grants that had already been adjusted with the hospital expenses.
About Sepoy Raich Uddin, another release said that Raich got admitted into the BDR hospital on June 3, 2005 with kidney disease. Later, he was admitted into Dhaka Medical College Hospital on January 29 this year.
On March 4, Raich was transferred to the Kidney Hospital from DMCH for improved treatment. "On March 9 at 5:10 pm, he passed away under treatment at the Kidney Hospital."
Raich also had applied to the BDR DG for money to meet the expenditure of improved treatment. Based on the application and advice from the doctor, the DG paid Tk 0.8 million as medical grants, which had already been adjusted with the hospital expenditure.
