BDR clinch title

Bangladesh Rifles clinched the EXIM Bank 19th National Men's Handball title beating Bangladesh Police by 32-17 goals in the last 'super three' match at the outer stadium handball ground in the city Monday, reports UNB.
It was the 18th national crown for Bangladesh Rifles, including 14th in a row in the 19th national handball meet since its inception of 1984. Bangladesh Air Force won the remaining national title in 1988.
In the day's title-deciding match, the BDR team led the first half by 14-9 goals. Jahangir Hossain of Bangladesh Rifles was adjudged the best player of the tournament.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee for Youth and Sports Ministry Zahid Ahsan Russell was the chief guest in the day's closing function and he later distributed the prizes.
Chess legend Rani Hamid, Federation vice-president Principal Hamida Ali and general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor also attended the function, chaired by Handball Federation President AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul.
