BDR men recover Indian smuggled goods

KURIGRAM, Aug 11: The members of 27 battalion of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) raided Bhurungamari frontier Sunday and recovered a large amount of Indian goods including a motor cycle and a truck worth Tk 2.4 million.
Deputy Commanding Officer of Kurigram 27 battalion Major Sayed Altaf Kabir told the correspondent that the team led by him raided Maidam frontier area under Bhurungamari Upazila of the district and recovered 542 pieces of Indian shari worth Tk 0.8 million, one motor cycle worth Tk 0.1 million and a truck worth Tk 1.5 million.
Sources said, the truck driver with his associates, managed to flee sensing the presence of BDR men leaving smuggled goods.
A case was filed in this connection with Bhurungamari police station.
