BDR seize Indian sari and Phensidyl

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Nov 23 (UNB): Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) members seized a huge number of Indian saris and Phensidyl syrup in separate drives here early Wednesday.
Acting on secret information, a patrol team of BDR seized 900 pieces of Indian sari worth about Tk 4.5 million at 1:00 am from an engine driven boat in the Padma River near Monohorpur border in Shibganj Upazila.
Sensing the presence of BDR team, the smugglers, who were brining the saris from India, fled away.
Another patrol team of BDR arrested two drug peddlers along with 209 bottles of Phensidyl syrup from a bus in the town.
