BDR seizes 8.0 tonnes chemicals

KHULNA, March 15: Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) seized 8.0 tonnes chemical of talcum powder from Bhomrah land port Wednesday night.
These chemical was importing from India on false declaration and evading tax.
Sources said M/S HK Fruit Marketing of 15 Tezkuni Bazar in Dhaka imported one hundred tones of flugo pile powder. The C&F agent M/S Alam Enterprise of Benapole, appointed for releasing the goods, submitted all documents to the customs on March 12.
On secret information, Satkhira BDR searched five loaded trucks and found 8.0 tonnes chemical of talcum powder without any proper documents. Later, BDR seized the goods.
Bhomrah customs authority said legal action has been taken against C&F agent, importer and PSC Company.
