BDR wins against BSF in friendly volleyball match in Meghalaya

SHERPUR, Dec 14 (UNB): Bangladesh Rifles beat Indian Border Security Force (BSF) by 2-1 set in a friendly volleyball match at Dhalu Stadium in Indian state of Meghalaya Monday.
A 50-member team led by Mymensingh BDR sector commander Col Mahbub visited Meghalaya at the invitation of his BSF counterpart of Tura Sector to play the friendly match. DIG of BSF GS Chowdhury greeted the BDR team.
The BDR team won the match 16-25, 25-16 and 25-19 set held at Dhalu Stadium across the Sherpur border. The match was followed by a cultural function.
Distributing prizes among the players DIG Chowdhury said the border forces of the two countries are committed to fighting terrorism. He appreciated the Bangladesh government for its action against the Assam separatist ULFA leaders and recalled the support they extended to the independence war of Bangladesh.
