Beaten by wife, man kills himself

A fourth-class employee of Dhaka Zoo reportedly committed suicide in a huff after being beaten by his wife and brother-in-law Thursday night, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Samir Majumder (31), son of Swapan Majumder. He had been residing at the Zoo Staff Quarters.
Police arrested the victim's wife and her brother on charge of inciting him to commit suicide.
Being informed, a team of Shah Ali Thana, led by its sub-inspector Ismail, recovered the hanging body of Samir, at about 12:50am early Friday.
Police, quoting family members, said Samir had an altercation with his wife Sheuly Rani on Thursday evening over a family matter. Later, Sheuly and her elder brother Sadhan Kumar allegedly beat Samir, said SI Hamid of the thana.
After the incident, Samir hanged himself in a fit of shame between 10:00pm and midnight, Hamid quoted Rajib Majumder, elder brother of Samir, as saying.
Police arrested Sheuly and Sadhan and a case was filed in this connection.
