Beauty makes ‘confession’ over Rakib killing

KHULNA: Beauty Begum, mother of Rakib killing prime accused Sharif and also an accused herself, reportedly made confessional statement before a court here on Friday.

Metropolitan Magistrate Aysha Akhter recorded the statement of Beauty Begum under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).  Police and court sources said the accused was produced before the court for her confessional statement around 11am. The court completed recording the statement around 4pm. In her statement, the accused informed the court that her son Sharif and one of his accomplices Mintu Khan were involved in the brutal killing of the minor boy. The accused mentioned that she witnessed how the duo killed the minor boy by pumping air from a compressor into his abdomen through his anus, according to a news agency. ----Aminul
