Benapole cattle trader injured in BSF firing

BENAPOLE, May 13 (UNB): A Bangladeshi cattle trader was reportedly shot and injured by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Putkhali border area in Benapole on Monday.
The injured was identified as Amjad Ali, 32, of Krishnapur village in Putkhali border area.
The trader was shot by BSF personnel at Zero Point while trying to smuggle cattle from India through the Putkhali border route on Monday morning. Later, he was brought back to Bangladesh by his companions.
Amer Ali, brother of the victim, said his brother went to India to bring cattle through the Putkhali border on Sunday night. On his way back home with the cattle in the morning, BSF personnel from the Kaliyani camp opened fire. Amjad Ali was shot in his left leg.
He was rushed to Jashore General Hospital and is currently undergoing treatment there, he added.
