Benapole C&F agent rescued in city 2-day after his abduction

Detectives rescued a C&F agent of Benapole from Dhaka's Mugda area early Thursday two days after he was reportedly kidnapped by miscreants. The rescued man was identified as Habibur Rahman Habi, a C&F agent in Benapole Land Port and son of Abdul Qashem of Shikri of Benapole village under Benapole union in Sharsha Upazila of Jessore. The victim’s brother Shamsur Rahman said Habi, also former chairman of Putkhali Union Parishad, went to Dhaka on Tuesday night (October 25) for C&F business purpose and was abducted by some miscreants in Kamalapur Railway Station area around 10.00pm. His two mobile phones remained switched off since his abduction and a general diary was filed with Matijheel Police Station. Deputy Commissioner Masudur Rahman (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said tipped off, a team of DB police launched a drive in Mugda in the morning and rescued Habi from a house. The plainclothes police also arrested six people for their alleged involvement in the abduction. Habi was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with critical injuries he received from torture after abduction, according to UNB.
