Benapole customs earns over Tk 20 billion

JESSORE, July 7: Benapole customs earned Tk 25.58 billion (Tk 2,558 crore 29 lakh) as revenue against the target fixed at Tk 24.72 billion (Tk 2,472 crore 68 lakh) in the fiscal year 2014-2015. It had earned revenue Tk  24.38 billion (Tk  2,438.45 crore) against the fixed revenue income target of Tk 26 billion in the fiscal year 2013-2014, sources said.
AFM Abdullah, Commissioner, Benapole Customs told that Benapole customs achieved the revenue target for the first time in last four years due to some policies and transparency.
The Beanpole Customs earned Tk 85.61 higher than that of the revenue income target in the fiscal year 2014-2015, customs sources said.
Ali Hossain, general secretary, Benapole Landport Importers and Exporters Association told that it is Benapole customs that checked over invoicing at the time of importing goods from neighbouring India which helped the customs authority to earn the extra revenue.     sohelfe@gmail.com
