A high school headmaster at Benapole union in Jessore's Sarsa Upazila has been suspended for embezzling the stipend of two physically challenged students. Baropota United High School's management body chief Abdul Gaffar said they decided to suspend Ainuddin at an emergency meeting on Thursday night. ‘We found proof of his misappropriating Tk 30,500 stipend of physically challenged students Sumi Akter and Abdullah,’ he said on Friday. Gaffar said they had started investigating reports of Ainuddin embezzling Sumi’s stipend but found he had misappropriated the money of another student, too. The headmaster refunded the money, he said. Sarsa's education officer Waheduzzman said the social welfare directorate gave the stipend, adding that he was aware of the punishment, according to bdnews24.com.
