Benefits for personnel retired in 2004

Whenever the Pay Commission recommends enhancement of the benefits for the pensioners, the government makes them effective as early as possible.
In this respect, I would humbly draw the kind attention of the Finance Minister to the fact that Pay Commission's recommendations for the year 2004 were made effective from January 01, 2005 instead of July 01, 2004, as it is usually done. That is why the personnel who retired between July 01, 2004 and December 31, 2004, after availing their leave preparatory to retirement (LPR), did not get enhanced pension benefits.
I would, therefore, request the Ministry of Finance to look into the matter for the needed correction so that the personnel who retired between July 01, 2004 and December 31, 2004, can get pension benefits at enhanced rate as recommended by that commission.
