Benefits of blood donation
Monday, 26 November 2018
The purpose of life is not solely contentment and survival of the person. A person should be helpful, compassionate and bring about positive differences in the lives of others.
Many people in Bangladesh, even those who are educated, do not want to donate blood. This is because they have a wrong notion about blood donation.
This is why many people take the help of professional blood donors who donate their own blood in exchange of money during medical emergencies. The blood of such donors is usually not safe. They are often engaged in addiction and other activities that make their blood harmful for the patients who need them.
Many organisations are operating in this sector now to ease the sufferings of patients who need blood for medical purpose. All of this is happening only because people have this wrong notion that donating blood can make the donor unhealthy and weak.
In fact, those who donate blood regularly are likely to be healthier. Regular blood donation helps people to lose iron on regular basis. It helps in reducing the chance of heart attack to a considerable level. It also gives the donor the chance of his or her blood to be screened for free. It is a win-win situation for everyone.
People should donate blood regularly. They should also encourage their loved ones to donate blood.
