Benefits of physical exercise

Friday, 28 December 2007

WE work and live in this big city of Dhaka. After a busy day's work we come home and face the trials there: who needs what and what needs to be done and so on and so forth. Isn't that the best time to go for a walk? Your doctor, if you have one, will tell you it is.
The popular thing of course is to do your physical exercise very early in the morning. The most popular places seem to be Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhanmandi lake area and Ramna Park. Hundreds of people are seen at these places each morning walking, jogging or doing different kinds of exercises. The air is fresh, which is a bonus actually.
Those who can afford it can go to swimming pools. Swimming, we have been told, is one of the best forms of exercise. One can also visit gyms. Many have cropped up in different neighbourhoods and are frequented by not only the youth but the not-so-young as well.
The best part of exercise is the physical wellbeing that one feels after a good exercise. Those who regularly exercise will tell you that they keep ailments away. And as the doctor will tell you, circulation increases longevity.
