BEPZA boss eyes full-fledged EPZ at Mongla

KHULNA, June 13: Mongla EPZ will be turned into a full-fledged export processing zone (EPZ) soon and then it will play an important role in improving the lifestyle of the people of the south-western region, said BEPZA executive chairman Brigadier General Jamil Ahmed Khan Thursday.

He was exchanging views with investors of the region and chamber representatives about investment in the EPZ in the conference room of the Mongla EPZ.

The executive chairman also said investors from home and abroad will also take interest in the EPZ when gas supply to the EPZ will be ensured, Mongla Port activities will increase and the Padma Bridge over the river Padma will be constructed.

BEPZA (Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority) is keeping in touch with the concerned authority to ensure gas supply to the EPZ, he mentioned.
