BEPZA gets new Executive Chairman

Major General SM Salahuddin Islam, BP, SPP, ndc, psc has recently taken over the charge of the Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), according to a press release.
He replaced Lt General Mohd Habibur Rahman Khan, BSP, ndc, psc, who recently retired from Bangladesh Army.
Before joining BEPZA, he was commanding 105 Infantry Brigade at Jashore Cantonment. Prior to that, he served at Bangladesh Infantry Regiment Centre as Deputy Commandant and also commanded 88 Infantry Brigade as brigade commander.
General Salahuddin was commissioned in the Corps of Infantry with 17th BMA Long Course in 1987 and posted to 21st Battalion of the East Bengal Regiment.
He completed National Defence Course-2016. In his adorned service life, he served with six different infantry battalions in various appointments.
He commanded two infantry battalions (38 EB and 15 EB) and a unit of Rapid Action Battalion. He also served as Deputy Commandant, President Guard Regiment and Director, Special Security Force.
He served at the UN mission as contingent member in Mozambique. He was selected as observer at UN mission in Democratic Republic of the Congo and also contingent commander of BANBAT- 1, the release added.
