BEPZA signs $19.038m lease deal with Korean co

M/S DongMi Textile Company Ltd, a one hundred per cent Korea-owned company, is going to set up a composite textile industry at Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ) area.
An agreement to this effect was signed between Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority and the M/s DongMi Textile in the city Thursday.
BEPZA Member (Investment Promotion) Prasanta Bhushan Barua and M/s. DongMi Textile Executive Director Park Gun Suck signed the lease agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
DongMi Textile will invest about $19.038 million and will produce dyed and finished knit and woven fabric and knit garments. The company will create employment opportunity for 3316 Bangladeshis including 24 foreign nationals.
BEPZA Executive Chairman Brig General Ashraf Abdullah Yussuf, Member (Finance) AKM Mahbubur Rahman, General Manager (Investment Promotion) AZM Azizur Rahman and Manager (Industrial Relations) Md Abdus Sobhan were present, among others, on the occasion.
