BEPZA to launch agri processing unit in Jessore

JESSORE, Nov 13: Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA) has taken steps to launch an agricultural processing unit at Shantala on the outskirts of the town. The unit will help strengthen vegetable production in Jessore. Jessore is now producing vegetables on a large scale. A good portion the production is being exported to other parts of the country. It produces vegetables of Tk 18 billion every year.
It was disclosed in view exchange meeting with leaders of Jessore Chamber of Commerce and Industries and journalists at a restaurant in Jessore .
Shahidul Islam Milan, president, Jessore Chamber, presided over the meeting while it was addressed among others by executive director of MRDI Hasibur Rahman, Press Club president Mizanur Rahman Tota, Fakir Shaukat, Jamir Ahmed Tun, Fahkre Alam, Abdul Mannan Miah, Mobinul Islam Mobin, Saifur Rahman Saif, Sunil Ghosh, Saiful Islam Sazal and Wahabuzzaman Jhantu.
