Bera municipality election on Aug 27 after 16 years

PABNA, July 13: At last Bera municipality election is going to be held on August, 27 after 16 years hiatus. The election commission issued election schedule for Bera municipality election on July 7 according to district election office. Bera municipality people welcome the EC's initiative.
Pabna district election officer, Saiful Islam said the election commission has issued election schedule on July 7 and started selling of nomination paper on Wednesday.
July 30 is the last date for nomination paper submission, scrutiny of the nomination papers on August, 2, and August 10 is the last date for withdrawing nomination paper, Saiful said. August, 27 has fixed for the poll date according to the schedule he added.
Bera municipality election was held on February, 23 in 1999, during then AL government. Abdul Baten, brother of lawmaker Samsul Haque Tuku was elected as the municipality mayor.
