Berger awards talent of architects

Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited (BPBL) has arranged a prize-giving ceremony of the Berger award for 'Excellence in Architecture-2009', in collaboration with the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) at a city hotel recently, said a press release.
The 'Berger Architects Award' winners were Ismat Hossain and Abid Hasan Noor for the project 'Kalyan' in residential category and Ehsan Khan, Ishtiaque Zahir and Iqbal Habib for the project 'Nishorgo' in non-residential category, while in 'Berger Young Architects Award' group, the commendation award went to M Rabiul Islam for the project 'Orphanage' at Chandpur in residential category and another prize went to K Hasibul Kabir for the project 'Pubail Retreat' at Gazipur in non-residential category.
BPBL Managing Director Rupali Chowdhury presented crests among the winners, while IAB President Mobasher Hossain gave certificates and prize money among them.
Architects, developers, eminent personalities and high officials of the company also attended in the awarding ceremony.
