Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited and the Bangladesh Institute of Environmentalists (BIE) jointly organised a seminar on 'Climate Resilience and Sustainable Development: The Bangladesh Context' at the IAB Centre in Dhaka on Friday, the 'World Earth Day'.
The seminar aimed to share research and new ideas that will help improve the environment and benefit people, says a statement.
At the seminar, Berger's plans and steps to protect the environment and improve public health were highlighted by the company's Chief of Research and Development ASM Obaidullah Mahmud.
The main speakers were Dr. Kazi Azizul Mawla, Md Nafizur Rahman and Dr. Afsana Parveen. President of the Bangladesh Institute of Environmentalists (BIE) SM Khorshed Alam and General Secretary Md Mahamudur Rahman Papon also spoke.
In Bangladesh, especially in cities, air pollution has become a serious health risk. It is causing more breathing problems, allergies, and long-term health issues, along with the harmful effects of greenhouse gases. Considering these factors, Berger has been working for a long time to develop and sell environment-friendly products, and Eco Coat is a prime example. Berger was the first to introduce Eco Coat, South Asia's first environment-friendly paint that fights air pollution.
Speaking about the importance of environment-friendly products for sustainable development, Obaidullah Mahmud highlighted the various benefits of using Eco Coat to prevent environmental damage.
He said, "Berger Eco Coat can play an important role in sustainable development and environmental protection."
"I believe that Eco Coat, being free from harmful chemicals, can actively help in dealing with public health and environmental challenges by reducing environmental harm and purifying the air for a long time. Berger Eco Coat is a bright example of how positive changes can be brought to society while also meeting the needs of consumers," he added.
The seminar concluded with a promise from Berger and the Bangladesh Institute of Environmentalists (BIE) to continue working together in the future so that the future generations can grow up in a healthy and pollution-free environment.
