Beshto becoming popular social site

'Beshto,' the first Bangla social networking site, ranks among top 100 local sites and it has taken the second position after the largest Bangla databank, Wikipedia.
Chief Executive Officer of the site Khondaker Fahim Mashroor disclosed this while speaking at the site's second anniversary programme held Saturday in the city.
He said thanks to its Bengali language a good number of people can use the site and in two years the number of its regular users has crossed 100,000 while the number of registered users is 75,000.
In the programme, a software programmer said it is a public network and the contents are open for any user.
The resourceful site is getting 20,000 new posts/contents per month.
Currently the Bengali literate smart mobile phone users can communicate with the members and can share their ideas. The site's Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Mehedi Hasan said this local site has become an important source of Bengali contents.
