Better liquoring teas get dearer rates

There was a strong demand in the week's sale emanating from internal buyers, were more forceful, whist loose tea buyers were also very active for good liquoring varieties. Once again prices moved appreciably for better liquoring teas. There was negligible interest from Pakistan whilst CIS stayed out. Better liquoring Dusts met with more competition at dearer rates.
CTC LEAF: 26,870 packages on offer met with a stronger demand generally at higher.
BROKENS: Well made good liquoring BOPs enjoyed a good market and were generally firm and these could be quoted between Tk102 and Tk105 but plainer varieties were in less demand and met with some withdrawals. Smaller Brokens were a progressively stronger market and were generally dearer by Tk.2.00 to Tk 4.00 following quality and these could be quoted between Tk 107 and Tk. 114. Plainer types also met with a good demand and were steady.
FANNINGS: Well made good liquoring Fannings were a stronger market and were generally dearer by Tk 2.00 to Tk. 4.00. A few select lines were appreciably dearer following competition and these could be quoted between Tk 109 and Tk 117. Medium types were also a stronger feature and were dearer by Tk 1.00 to Tk 2.00. Plainer varieties were also slightly dearer.
CTC DUST: 5,129 packages on offer met with a demand at mostly dearer rates. Best liquoring varieties sold well and were dearer by Tk 5.00 and more, particularly the CDs that were dearer by up to Tk 10.00 and more. Others sold around last levels with the plainest types also fetching higher prices than last. Both Blenders and Loose tea buyers lent a good support.
