Better logistic supports attract visitors at DITF

The Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2010 is running in full swing within two weeks of inauguration as thousands city dwellers of all ages visit the country's largest yearly carnival every day.
Jointly organized by the ministry of commerce and Export Promotion Bureau, the month-long 15th DITF was inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on January 1, 2010.
As per direction from the commerce minister, construction of participants' stalls and pavilions, both for local and foreign, have been completed prior to inauguration, an EPB source said.
Besides, all pavilions and stalls have been artistically decorated, the official added.
The fair this year has accommodated 72 pavilions, 49 mini-pavilions, 343 stalls and 27 restaurants/drinks corners.
To ensure maximum safety and security in the fair peripheries and its surroundings, the fair management has five security posts for law-enforcement authorities. Besides, the authority has two police check post within the ground and total 650 police officials, both male and female, remain stand on duty every day.
The fair organizer has built 164 toilets in 10 separate spots. It also has two electricity sub-stations within the ground and the entire fair area has been covered by free Wimax services. One fire engine has been deployed permanently at the ground to take immediate action in case of any fire outbreak.
Beside local participants, trade representatives from USA, Thailand, China, Turkey, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Iran, South Korea and Hong Kong are showcasing their products, Export Promotion Bureau office announced.
