Better marketing facilities to accelerate rural progress stressed

RANGPUR, Apr 19 (BSS): The present government puts due importance on enhancing marketing facilities for the locally produced products through developing and setting up markets to accelerate economic development in rural areas.
Lawmaker from Rangpur-2 constituency Abul Kalam Md. Ahsanul Hoque Chowdhury said this while inaugurating development works of Ekorchali (Bazar) Market at a ceremony on Saturday as the chief guest.
The Local Government and Engineering Department (LGED) has been implementing construction works of the three new sheds of the Bazar under Ekorchali union in Taraganj upazila at Tk 3.40 million (Tk 34 lakh) to develop marketing facilities of the locally produced goods.
After launching construction works of the sheds by the chief guest, he attended and addressed a public rally arranged at nearby local Ekorchali High School ground with Taraganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Golam Mowla in the chair.
President of Taraganj upazila AL Atiar Rahman, its General Secretary Nazrul Islam, Taraganj Upazila Engineer Ahmmed Haider Zaman, Officer-in-Charge of Taraganj Thana Taposh Sarker, addressed the rally.
Chairman of Ekorchali union parishad Mobarak Hossain, President of Taraganj upazila unit of Jatiya Sramik, League Kamruzzaman Milan and General Secretary of Ekorchali union unit of AL Zillur Rahman also spoke.
In their speeches, the speakers expressed gratitude to the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for improving facilities at Ekorchali Bazar to promote marketing of the locally produced products to accelerate progress of the rural area.
The chief guest said construction of the three new sheds at Ekorchali Bazar would definitely facilitate marketing activities for the rural people, including farmers, to speed up the ongoing process of socio-economic developments in the whole area.
