Beware of cold, influenza

Monday, 27 November 2023

As winter approaches, cold and influenza may not be far away. It is crucial not to overlook the impact of these common respiratory illnesses. With the drop in temperatures, we often witness an uptick in the cases of cold and influenza. This not only strains our healthcare system but also affects the well-being of individuals and families.
We need to take preventive measures, such as vaccination, good hygiene practices and staying home when unwell, to mitigate the spread of these illnesses. Moreover, it would be beneficial for the authorities concerned to enhance public awareness campaigns and provide information on symptoms, preventive measures and the importance of seeking timely medical attention. By fostering a sense of community responsibility, we can collectively work towards minimising the impact of cold and influenza on the health of our people.
