Thursday, 20 November 2008

Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited, one of the pharmaceutical manufacturers and exporters of the country, exports medicines to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries soon.
In this connection, the company has already received an approval from the Ministry of Health of GCC countries Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, said a press release.
The combined pharmaceutical market of the GCC countries is currently valued at more than US$4.0 billion and multinational companies from Europe and the USA mainly enjoy the market.
Earlier, in February this year, a joint inspection committee of the Ministry of Health of GCC countries visited the oral solid dosage and inhaler facilities of Beximco Pharma at Tongi in Bangladesh.
The rigorous audit by the inspection team found Beximco Pharma's manufacturing facilities to be world class, meeting the stringent global Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
Speaking on the export plan, Chief Executive Officer of the Beximco Pharma Nazmul Hassan said, "As part of our global expansion plan, we have always considered the Middle East as a market with great potential for Beximco Pharma and with the establishment of a common market of GCC countries this region has become one of the most attractive pharmaceutical market blocs in the world."
