BFF announces annual calendar of activities

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has announced its annual calendar highlighting different local and international programmes and activities from August 2012, reports UNB.
BFF Senior Vice President Abdus Salam Murshedy announced the BFF annual calendar at a press conference at the BFF Bhaban on Wednesday featuring the local and international programmes and engagements at home and abroad.
In the international programmes, Bangladesh will participate in the 2nd SAFF Women's Championship in Sri Lanka on September 1-11, 2012; AFC U-19 Women's Championship in Kuala Lumpur on September 18-25, 2012; 25th U-18 International Football Tournament in Russia on January 4-14, 2013; AFC Challenge Cup on March 2-17, 2013; AFC President's Cup March 2-12, 2013; AFC Under-14 Boys Festival May 10-23, 2013; and SAFF U-16 Championship May 10-23, 2013.
In the domestic programmes, the first leg of the prestigious Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is scheduled to be held on November 5-December 31, 2012 while the 2nd leg will be held on January 6-February 28, 2013.
The first phase of the Bangladesh Championship League is scheduled for November 10-December 31, 2012; while the 2nd phase matches are billed for January 3-February 25, 2013.
The most lucrative and attractive 'crore taka Super Cup Football' is scheduled to be held in between the 2nd week of April and the middle of May next year after the Independence Cup Football in March.
But this year's football season will begin on August 30, a week after the holy Ramadan with Federation Shield Football followed by Federation Cup Football on September 24 to October 20.
The women footballers will spend a busy time in the next six months with Metropolis Women's Club League and National Women's Football (both to be held in October 2012); Women's Corporate League (November 2012); National Women's School Football (December 2012); Metropolitan Women's School Football (January 2013) and Women's Super Four Championship (March 2013) .
Besides, the seven-team First Division Football (Aug 10-Oct 10, 2012); 20-team 3rd Division Football (Oct 10-Dec 15, 2012); 16-team 2nd Division Football (Jan 1-Apr 1, 2013);, Pioneer Football League (1st week of Sept-last week of Oct, 2012); Metropolitan Boys' School Football and Danone Cup Under-12 Football (both in Dec, 2012); JFA Cup U-14 Football (Feb 2013); and Champions Club Cup (Mar-Apr 2013) are also included in the BFF annual calendar.
