BFF call-up another 20 players to form national team

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Thursday called up another 20 booters in addition to the previously selected 25 players to form the national football team for two international soccer meets to be held next month, reports UNB.
Bangladesh national football team will participate in the Nehru Cup Football Tournament in India from August 16-29 and also in the Merdeka Football Tournament in Malaysia from August 19-29 this year.
BFF selected the preliminary squad for two international soccer meets mostly with youth and promising players keeping the ensuing SAFF Championship in mind.
Famed Indian coach Syed Nayeemuddin, who signed a five-month contract with BFF early this week, is likely to prepare the national team for two international meets keeping eyes on the SAFF Championship to be held in December in Colombo and Male.
The freshly selected 20 players: Goalkeepers: SM Shakil (Sheikh Russell KC), Atiqul Islam Tareq (Abahani Ltd) and Mazharul Islam Himel (Mohammedan SC).
Defenders: Hasan Al Mamun, Mustafa Anwar Parvez (Muktijoddha SKC), Mahmudul Hasan (Russell KC), Arafat Ali Ronny (Rahmatganj MFS), Amit Khan Shuvro (Brothers Union), Kamal Hossain (Mohammedan SC) and Akram Hossain (Arambagh KS).
Midfields: Motiur Rahman Munna (Muktijoddha SKC), Kallol Kumar Ghosh Zuku (Arambagh KS), Khokon Das and Monir Hossain (Ctg. Abahani), Arup Kumar Baidya (Farashganj SC), Zumratul Islam Mithu (Mohammedan SC) and Ronny Islam (Farashganj SC).
Forwards: Alfaz Ahmed and Saifur Rahman Moni (Miktijoddha SKC) and Akbar Hossain Ridhon (Arambagh KS).
