BFF names national squad for SAFF championship

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) on Sunday announced a 23-member national squad for the 6th SAFF Championship to be held December 4-14 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city, reports UNB.
The selected players have been asked to join the residential camp that begins on Tuesday at BKSP in Savar.
The squad: Aminul Haq, Majharul Islam Himel and Mostak Rahman (goalkeepers), Mamun Mia, Rezaul Karim Reza, Al Amin, Nasir Hossain, Mohiudin Ibnul Siraji, Wali Faisal and Atiqur Rahman Mishu (defenders), Manik, Monayem Khan Raju, Maruf Ahmed, Shahedul Shahed, Sheikh Alamgir Kabir Rana, Emon Babu, Mamunul Islam, Imtiaz Sultan Jitu and Chomrin Rakhain (midfielders), and Enamul Haque, Abdul Baten Komol, Zahid Hasan Emily and Mithun Chowdhury (strikers).
Hosts Bangladesh is placed in Group B of the SAFF meet along with Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bhutan.
Bangladesh will play their group opening match against Bhutan on December 4, the 2nd match against Pakistan on Dec. 6, and the 3rd and last match against Sri Lanka on Dec. 8.
The semifinals of the meet will be held on Dec. 11 while the final is slated for Dec. 13.
