BFP governing body meet April 7

The first meeting of the governing committee of 'Business Finance for the Poor' programme in Bangladesh (BFP-B) will be held on April 07 at the Bangladesh Bank (BB), officials said. Dr. Atiur Rahman, governor of the central bank, will preside over the meeting as the chairman of the governing committee. The government and Department for International Development (DFID) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in January last. The fund size of the BFP-B project is £ 22.5 million. The main focus of the project is to help banks and non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs) in reaching the micro and small enterprises in rural areas easily.
