Leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) demanded Thursday immediate release of Rabiullah Robi, news editor of the Dainik Inqilab, reports BSS.
BFUJ president Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul and secretary general Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan, in a statement, said as a result of long movement by the journalist community the government led by Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina abolished the practice of arresting journalists in connection with any lawsuit.
Expressing their indignation, the journalists' leaders said newsmen are now arrested frequently under the ICT Act.
