BGB-BSF confce starts today in Delhi

A six-day director general-level conference between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) of India begins in New Delhi today (Wednesday). BGB Director General (DG) Major General Aziz Ahmed will lead a 20-member delegation from Bangladesh while DG of BSF Devendra Kumar Pathak the Indian side to the border conference that will end on August 25. Different bilateral issues, including border killings and tortures of Bangladeshis by BSF and Indians smuggling of arms, ammunition, drugs and illegal goods into Bangladesh and human trafficking are likely to get priority at the 6-day meeting. BGB’s sector commanders of Rangpur, Jessore, Sarail, and Chittagong regions, high officials of home and foreign ministries, high mandarin of BGB headquarters, DG of narcotics, senior members of Joint-River Commission (JRC), and Land Record and Survey Directorate will be included in the BGB team, according to a news agency.
