BGB man injured in \\\'shootout\\\'

A member of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was seriously injured in a shootout with a gang of miscreants in Naf River in Teknaf Upazila in Cox’s Bazar district on Wednesday night. Lieutenant Colonel Farid, sector commander of Cox’s Bazar BGB, said being tipped off, a patrol team of Teknaf BGB Battalion-42 went to Naf River near Damdamia BGB check post to arrest some miscreants. Sensing the presence of the BGB troops the criminals fired targeting the border force. The BGB fired back he said. ‘BGB fired at least 25 rounds of bullet in retaliation,’ he said. ‘At one stage, a BGB jawan received bullet injuries,’ he said adding the injured BGB man was admitted to Teknaf Upazila Health Complex, according to a news agency.
