BGB on alert as Myanmar mobilises army along border

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been put on high alert along Bangladesh-Myanmar border as Myanmar authorities have reportedly deployed army at its outposts. “We’ve information the Myanmar authorities mobilised their army at their outposts along the border. We’ve already sent a protest note (to Myanmar authorities) in this regard,” BGB Director General (DG) Major Gen Aziz Ahmed told a press conference. In the protest note, the BGB chief said they specifically asked the Myanmar authorities to pull out their army from the border, according to a news agency.
