BGB raising day observed in Joypurhat

Our Correspondent JOYPURHAT, Dec 19: First raising day of Border Guard Battalion (BGB) was observed in Joypurhat. 3 BGB camps of Joypurhat observed this day with various programmes such as a rally, discussion meeting and leaflet distributing among the people. On the occasion BGB brought out a colourful rally in the city from Abul Kashem Maidan. Lt. Col Mehedi Hasan, commander of BGB, Additional Deputy Commissioner Subhas Chandra Saha, Paura Mayor Abdul Aziz Molla spoke in the meeting. Lt. Colonel Mehedi Hasan said that to control smuggling of arms, drugs and others goods, women and child trafficking, BGB men are always alert in the border area and in the day of 1st BGB raising his camp will be more alert at all hours.
