BGB receives 155 Bangladeshi trafficking victims

A team from the Border Guard of Bangladesh went to Myanmar on Wednesday morning to bring back 155 Bangladeshis, who were recently rescued from Myanmar sea territory.
The flag meeting began between BGB and Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) began along the border in Cox’s Bazar around 12pm.
The eight-member team of the BGB led by BGB-17 Commanding Officer Lt Col Md Rabiul Islam went to the Dekibuniya BGP camp in Maungdaw of Myanmar for the flag meeting, UNB reported.
Earlier, the Myanmar authorities sent a list of 528 people who intended to return to Bangladesh, to the authorities.
Later, the government has identified 155 people, out of 528, as Bangladeshi nationals after the police verification.
The Bangladeshis were reportedly going to Malaysia and Thailand through sea illegally.
