BGB rescues 17 persons including women, children in Joypurhat

JOYPURHAT, Apr 21: Seventeen persons including women and children were rescued by Border Guards of Bangladesh (BGB) from Vuidoba village under Panchbibi Upazila in the district Thursday noon. They were being trafficked to India. On information BGB members of Attapara BOP camp raided the village and rescued 17 persons and arrested a broker. Sources said the rescued persons are from Ramu, Ukhia and Teknaf Upazilas of Cox's Bazar district. The seventeen persons were identified as Hinif (2), son of Abdul Hakim, Mst. Amira (8), Morjina (5), Anar Koli (4), daughter of Zakir Hossain of village Kutu, Palong Upazila in Ukhia, Jubeir (5), Johar (3), son of Yunus, Rafik (10), Salimullah (15), son of Sultan Ahammed of village Lada Natun camp, Teknaf Upazila, Nurjahan (35), wife of Yunus, Fatema (21), wife of Zakir Hossan, Latifa (19), wife of Hakim, Parvin Akhter (18), daughter of late Arshad Mia, Hasina (17), daughter of late Nur Ahmmed in Ukhia Upazila, Rashidullah (36), son of late Arshad Hossain of Ukhia, Hakim (25), son of Yusuf, Zakir Hossain (30), son of late Sultan Ahmmed of Kutupalong village, Yunus (28), son of Katulism village Lada Natun camp under Teknuf Upazila. The arrested broker was Hossain Mia (48), son of late Kabir Ahammed of Ramu Upazila in Cox's Bazar district.
