BGB’s own rank badge introduced

Own rank badge for the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) consistent with the posts of BGB was introduced Sunday as part of the reorganisation process of the country's frontier forces fulfilling a long-cherished demand, reports UNB.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina formally adorned BGB Director General Major General Aziz Ahmed with the rank badge at a simple ceremony at the Prime Minister's Office.
Briefing reporters after the ceremony, PM's Special Assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil said other officials of BGB alongside those who hold ranks were also adorned with rank badges at the function.
He said the introduction of the own rank badge for the BGB had been a long standing demand, which was fulfilled today (Sunday).
The own rank badge for the BGB has been introduced keeping unchanged the main ranks of the officials deputed from Bangladesh Army in consistence with the other forces under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
PM's Security Adviser Maj Gen (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique and State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal were, among others, present on the occasion.
