BGCPS Football Tournament begins in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Oct 11 (BSS): Bangabandhu Gold Cup Primary School Football Tournament-2010 has begun in all the unions of Sadar Upazila in the district from October 10 amid much enthusiasm to the students, the teachers and the guardians.
Upazila Nirbahi officer Ashib Ahsan formally inaugurated the tournament in the upazila through attending a function organized by Badiakhali Union Parishad at Badiakhali High School ground on Sunday as the chief guest and district primary education officer Dilruba Begum was present as the special guest.
Amanul Haque Mona, UP chairman was in the chair, the function was also addressed, among others, by assistant commissioner (Land) Mostafizur Rahman and upazila primary education officer Sonali Sarker.
Besides, such this tournament would also help the soft minded students go to the schools regularly with enthusiasm, they said.
Later, they watched the inaugural match between Badiakhali 1no Government Primary School and Shaultari Registered Primary School of the union.
A total of 210 schools of the upazila are taking part in the tournament, official sources said.
