BGIC approves 17.5pc stock dividend

Bangladesh General Insurance Company Limited (BGIC) approved 17.5 per cent stock dividend for its shareholders.
The approval came at the 23rd annual general meeting (AGM) of the company at a city club Sunday.
Chaired by BGIC Chairman Towhid Samad, the meeting was attended, among others, by directors Abdus Sattar, AZ Humayun, Saleh Ahmed, Mahmud Hasan and Shohel Humayun, Managing Director AK Azizul Huq Chaudhuri, Principal Adviser Khorshed Alam and Financial Consultant Anisuz Zaman Chowdhury.
A large number of shareholders took part in the meeting.
The company made a substantial growth in premium income over the previous year.
Besides, four directors from sponsor shareholders and three directors from public subscription shareholders have been re-elected unanimously in the meeting.
